Reno, Nevada

Thursday, September 3rd- Monday, September 7th

An awesome four days hanging with the Hosefros family!

Lilliana, Vanessa, Keegan and Jared Hosefros
Friends that moved to Reno from Vermont.

We spent the past few days hanging out with the Hosefros' at their house in Reno. We arrived on Thursday and just after saying hi to everyone my parents and I left to go to Reno orthopedics to get my cast off. It felt so good to wash my hand and scratch it! When we got back to the Hosefros' house, Asa and I were really exited to open my RC (radio controlled) car. I had ordered it when we were in Maine.   We were not sure if it would arrive in time for us to bring it with us on the plane so we shipped it to the Hosefros'. When we unwrapped the car we plugged the battery in right away and started to drive it. The battery barely had any charge so we only got to drive it for a few minutes at first. The next day when the battery was fully charged Asa and Keegan went to the Truckee skatepark and I brought the car. There was a big dirt parking lot next to the skatepark and I spent the whole battery time (about an hour) drifting the car around the open parking lot. I was psyched to finally get my car.  I didn't expect it to be so fast!

We were able to stop in the CR Healing Center in Truckee for Eli to say hello to Roy Tuscany founder of the High Fives Foundation.

Hike up to Squaw Mountain.  It was a steep hike up, but an easy ride on the tram on the way down.

I finally was able to skate at Woodward. Keegan and I spent the whole day at there. At Woodward Tahoe, there are three skate-parks; one indoors and two outdoors. The one indoors was concrete and had some fun features. One of the features was a jump that had a roller behind it and if you were going fast enough you could jump over the gap and onto the backside of the roller. There was also a fun quarter pipe and hip.

The first outdoor park was a cool concrete pool. It had a shallow side, a deep side and a roller connecting the two sides. It also had a little course around the outside of the pool/bowl. Even though this bowl was a cool bowl I think Keegan and I spent the least amount of time here.

The last park I think was the best out of the three parks. I liked it the most because there were a bunch of cool features that you could move around to make something that you wanted to skate. I learned a couple of tricks at that park. In total Keegan and I skated about 6 hours that day. It was the part of the road trip that I was really exited about.

Checking out the bike park at Woodward. Eli was bummed he could not ride there...

A quick trip down to see Lake Tahoe.  Since it was Labor Day weekend, it was a bit crazy!

Jared took us on a ride, before picking up the boys at Woodward.  Great riding and great views!

Hanging out the last night!
